Ecological Descriptors

Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult bites humans, type series was captured in an arid area with apparently no free water surface for many miles, associated with dry areas with minimal rainfall in mallee, heath, broom, tea-tree and sclerophyll woodland; larva found in long narrow pipes in broken branches and swampy flats.
