Adult: pest, volant.

Larva: aquatic, phytotelmata.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult a vicious biter and attacks humans in dry scrub, rainforest, semi-tropical and open eucalypt forests; pest nuisance for domestic environments near larval habitats; larva found among the bases of leaf axils of sword grass (Gahnia spp. [Cyperaceae]) and Pandanus [Pandanaceae] in coastal swamps.
