Nielsen, E.S., Edwards, E.D. & Rangsi, T.V. (eds) 1996. Checklist of the Lepidoptera of Australia. Monographs on Australian Lepidoptera. Collingwood : CSIRO Publishing Vol. 4 xiv 529 pp. & CD-ROM. (Note #497: Acosmeryx anceus (Stog, 1781) was also originally spelled A. ancetus (Stoll, 1781) in the index. A. ancems (Stoll) was used by Hübner [1816-1825] in [1819] but he is not the first reviser as he did not mention both original spellings. Note #498: Acosmeryx cinerea Butler, March 1875 has long been considered a junior subjective synonym of A. anceus (Stoll, 1781) but Holloway (1987) showed that it is a junior subjective synonym of A. shervillii Boisduval, Feb. 1875)
