Species Aceria genistae (Nalepa, 1892)

Introduction

This species was deliberately introduced into Australia for the biological control of the weed Cytisus scoparius (Sagliocco et al., 2013). Xue et al (2015) found that some specimens of Aceria genistae in New Zealand had been misidentified as another closely related species, so the identity of the Australian specimens awaits detailed confirmation.
