Introduction

Essig (1926) attributed the name Eriophyes fici to Ewing. However, Ewing apparently never published this name (Keifer, 1938). Eriophyes fici Essig, 1926 is both a synonym and a homonym of Eriophyes ficus Cotte, 1920 (Baker, 1939).
