Syntype(s) USNEC Female (The single slide in the USNM is labeled "Eriococcus/ elegans/ Full./ co-type/ W. Australia/ Fuller, col." Although this does not completely agree with the type data in Fuller (1897b) we assume that this material is syntypic.), AUSTRALIA: Western Australia.

STRUCTURE
Adult female is reddish-brown and covered by a secretion of several white filaments which are arranged in 3 distinct rows of curling pyramidal tufts, though this secretion cannot be regarded as a true sac (see Fuller, C. 1899. XIV. Notes and descriptions of some species of Western Australian Coccidae. Transactions of the Entomological Society of London 1899: 435–473).
