- Astacocrotonidae Thor, S. 1927. Acarinologische Notizen. Zoologischer Anzeiger 72: 155-159.
Introduction
The endemic Australian family Astacocrotonidae includes only a single species. The adults are parasites that occur on the gills of freshwater crayfish in southeastern Australia (reviewed by Harvey 1998; Walter et al. 2009), but nothing else is known of its biology and life cycle. The family is provisionally placed in the Hygrobatoidea, until the larva is discovered.
