Family ASCORHYNCHIDAE Hoek, 1881
Introduction
The traditional family Ammotheidae has been found to be paraphyletic in several phylogenetic analyses and, accordingly, the families are rearranged (Arango 2002, 2003; Arango & Wheeler 2007; Nakamura et al. 2007).
Diagnosis
(Unpublished) Clade named in Nakamura et al. (2007) to group Eurycyde and Ascorhynchus. The original name by Hoek, (1881) was assigned to Ascorhynchus. Then resurrected by Fry (1978) for the group.
