Family ARISTIIDAE Lowry & Stoddart, 1997
Introduction
Aristiids are a small world-wide lysianassoid amphipod family reported from Australian waters for the first time by Stoddart & Lowry, 2010. Aristiids are often associated with other marine invertebrates such as anemones, ascidians, brachiopods and sponges (see Lowry & Stoddart 1997). However, Australian records of aristiid/invertebrate associations are currently circumstantial. Three species have been collected in samples with anemones, sponges and ascidians.
