Family ARGYRESTHIIDAE
Introduction
[After Edwards 1996: 52]
This small family is represented in Australia by a single species. The family is best represented in the Holarctic and the larvae are typically miners or borers, frequently in conifers. The family should probably be treated as a subfamily of the Yponomeutidae (Kyrki 1990).
Genitalia and wing-venation of the Australian species are shown in Common (1990). Khan et al. (1989) provide a bibliography for the genus Argyresthia Hübner and Friese (1960, 1969) offers a particularly comprehensive account of the Palaearctic fauna.
