Introduction
The family Aporometridae is endemic to the southern coasts of Australia. Only one genus is known, with three recorded species.
The aporometrids are distinguished in the order Comatulida by the following combination of features: small; viviparous; with ten arms, arms rounded dorsally; discoidal centrodorsal; disc plated; mouth central; few pinnules in each side of arm (25); first brachial syzygy at 3+4, second at 7+8, third at 12+13.
