- Adelphacarinae Grandjean, F. 1954. Etude sur les Palaeacaroides (Acariens, Oribates). Mémoires du Muséum nationale d'Histoire naturelle Series A (Zoologie) [1950-1992] 7: 179-274.
Introduction
The family Adelphacaridae includes only a single described species (Norton & Behan-Pelletier 2009; Schatz et al. 2011). Subias (2011) and some other authors treat this family as a synonym of Aphelacaridae. Adelphacarus sellnicki Grandjean, 1952 has been reported from Europe and Brazil (Subias 2011). The family is known from Australia only from a record of an unidentified species of Adelphacarus reported from Western Australia by Kinnear & Tongway (2004) (as Adelaphacarus, sic).
