   Holotype AM ♂ (coll.: xii.1969, J.G. Brooks), Cairns, Queensland.

 

Introduction

This relatively large and elegant insect is only known from the far north of Queensland. The etymology of the species name was not given with the original description but it is possible it was named in honour of the Australian Entomological Society.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Cupreous brown. Face black in centre. Pronotum brown. Scutellum dark brown. Length ♂ 10 mm. The species is distinguished by the characteristic shape of the aedeagus (Evans 1981).
