Introduction

Montidelos macquariensis has a less globose shell and wider umbilicus than M. orcadis. The animal is orange.

Ecological Descriptors

Dry vine thickets, eucalyptus trees, litter-dwelling, rainforest, under logs.

 

Diagnosis

Shell small, glossy yellow to amber with darker streaks in some specimens, subdiscoidal; protoconch shiny, with weak radial growth ridges, teleoconch sculpture of weak radial ribs giving way to prominent branched spiral wrinkles on body whorl, pronounced spiral grooves below; umbilicus wide, V-shaped; diameter 9.5mm.
