More or less cosmopolitan.


Diagnosis

Pleurobrachiidae with elongate cylindrical body, oval or egg-shaped; with tentacle bulbs running parallel to and closely along side the pharynx, typically quite long.

 

Note

An unidentified species of Hormiphora has bee reported in Australia by Edgar (1997, 2000); distribution reported as more or less cosmopolitan, and ecology as marine, planktonic, planktovore.
