Collingwood : CSIRO Publishing Vol. 4 xiv 529 pp. & CD-ROM. [285] (Note # 563: Phaos interfixa Walker, 1855. Turner (1926: 111) identified Walker's species with the species flying at high altitude in Tasmania. Walker's description is not accurate enough to distinguish the two. The specimen marked as the 'type’ in the BMNH is the species flying on the lowlands. Hampson (1900) figured a lowland specimenas P. interfixa Walker. It is possible that Walker had a mixed series as Turner (1926) implies. However, there is no evidence of this and the specimen considered as the 'type' by Hampson and so marked in the BMNH should be selected as lectotype. The name is applied to the lowland species in this Checklist although it leaves the high altitude species without a valid name)
