Genus Gaetulia Stål, 1864

Compiler and date details

10 May 2011 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

This genus is essentially a Central American one with three species in Australia. The placement of three Australian species in an otherwise Neotropical genus is questionable since there is very little connection between these two regions in other fulgoroid families. Gaetulia koebelei Muir may be a junior synonym of Salona panorpaepennis (Guérin-Méneville) and it is therefore possible that all three Australian species may be better placed in Salona Stål.
