Introduction

This species was described from "New South Wales" which may have meant anywhere in the entire eastern part of mainland Australia. It is unknown to the compiler.

Known only from type locality.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

Diagnosis

Ferruginea, gracilis, subtus testacea; scutellum piceo bimaculatum et unifasciatum; pedes testacei; alae anticae subferrugineae; alae posticae limpidae.
Fem. — Ferruginous, slender, oblanceolate, testaceous beneath; head and chest flat; head conical, as broad as the chest, finely striated longitudinally, very concave along the hind border, pitchy about the fore border, with a very slight middle ridge; its length full half its breadth; face finely punctured; chest finely striated transversely; shield very convex on the fore border, along each side of which there is a slight furrow; scutcheon with a pitchy spot on each side at the base, and with a pitchy band towards the tip; abdomen lengthened and attenuated towards the tip; legs testaceous; wings narrow; fore-wings pale ferruginous; hind-wings colourless. Length of the body 6½ lines; of the wings 9½ lines (Walker 1851).
