Diagnosis

There are two species of Achilini recorded from Tasmania, this one and Dipsiathus obscurifrons Emeljanov. The shorter vertex (coryphe) and looser more extensive reticulate pterostigmatic area on the forewings can be used to differentiate them. However, because of the possibility of undescribed species, the male genitalia should be used to confirm identifications. These were illustrated by Emeljanov (2005: 24).
