Introduction

This genus is known from one described and one undescribed species from SE Queensland and one undescribed species in New Caledonia; the two undescribed species are represented only by nymphs. The name means "little saddle" reflecting the general shape of these insects.

Diagnosis

Head wider than pronotum; face narrow, frons and clypellus tapered towards rostrum, lora discoid; frons bearing three pairs of setigerous pustules flanking mesal groove; antennae set as far apart as edges of genal lobes. Dorsum heavily pustulate and setose, setae definitely capitate; largest pustules forming two rows on disc of crown, across pronotum and on humeral angles of tegmina forming lateral, multipustulate flanges; pronotal "paranota" absent. Tegmina without prominent pits. Abdomen with 6–8 rows of tubercles. Femoral macrosetae apical. Male pygofer pustulate with capitate setae; aedeagus large, bifurcate; connective elongate; style tip drawn out, acute. Female pregenital (7th and 8th) sternites each with a pair of isolated spiculate rows near meson; ovipositor blades strongly curved (Hamilton 1999).
