Introduction

Echotrida substrangeoides is very similar to E. strangeoides in sculpture except that the spirals are bolder and more widely spaced and become obsolete on the lower surface of the body whorl. E. substrangeoides has a wider and shallower umbilicus and less globose shell compared with other Echotrida species.

Rainforest, under litter, under logs.

 

Diagnosis

Shell small, yellow, subdiscoidal with a flat spire; protoconch with incised spiral striae on the latter part, teleoconch sculpture of strong spiral striae on upper and lower surfaces but becoming vestigial on the base of the body whorl; umbilicus wide and shallow, V-shaped; diameter 11mm.
