Introduction

The only Australian species of this tribe is reasonably common in coastal areas of Queensland and New South Wales but there may be more than one species included. The species is unusual in Achilidae in that the tegmina (fore wings) are held vertically with their ends apposed rather than being held more or less horizontal with the apical membranes overlapping. The tribe was created by Emeljanov (1991) who simply included it in a key to tribes of Achilinae (in Russian) without any discussion. An English translastion was published as Emeljanov (1992).

Diagnosis

Forewing with subbasally concave costal margin, wings at rest folded steeply tectately, membranes contiguous on proximal surfaces. Posterior branch of vein CuA touching posterior margin of membrane. Second anal vein of hindwing, not far from margin of wing strongly bending forward and continuing away from fold along posterior margin. (from Emeljanov 1992)
