Introduction

This species is only known from the type locality at Cooktown in far north Queensland. It was named after the collector of the holotype, Mr J. Sedlacek, a well known and prolific collector of Australian insects.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Mottled brown. Face pale brown. Crown, pronotum and scutellum pale mottled brown. Tegmen pale brown spotted with darker brown. Male genitalia: hind margin of pygophore narrowly emarginate, dorsally and apically spanner-shaped; aedeagus U-shaped with a small posterior vertical spine. Xth segment with a pair of brown, sword-like processes arising from the base. Length ♂ 6 mm (Evans 1981)
