Introduction

This is one of the species of Rosopaella with transverse banding on the forewings. It is only known from the male holotype from Myrtleford in NE Victoria.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Colour as in R. cuprea (Walker), but face heavily marked with dark brown; vertex, pronotum and scutellum dark brown and legs tinged with brown. Male genitalia as in R. cuprea but subgenital plate more elongate and aedeagus with anterior processes bifurcate and posterior processes more divergent. Length, ♂ 4.2 mm (Webb 1983).
