Introduction
Hett (1925) described this species originally based on material given to her by Dendy, which was obtained from specimens of Cherax preissi (Erichson, 1846). Cannon & Sewell (2001) redescribed this species from species of Cherax from southwestern Western Australia. Mitchell & Kok (1998) reported this species on imported stocks of Cherax tenuimanus Smith, 1912 from South African aquaculture ventures.
