  • Drosophila inornata Malloch, J.R. 1923. Notes on Australian Diptera with descriptions [No. 1]. Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales 48: 601-622 [14 December; this is the first in a series of papers, later to have the shortened title 'Notes on Australian Diptera', which spanned the years 1923–1941, comprising 39 parts] [617].
    Type data:
     Holotype AM K48514 (Daniels (1978) notes that "The head, abdomen, a wing and the legs are missing from this specimen"), Blue Mountains, New South Wales.
    Paratype(s) AM 2 (Malloch describes the paratypes as "two poorly preserved specimens", sex unknown), Sydney, New South Wales.
