Introduction
This species was described as a parasite of Acanthaster planci (Linnaeus, 1758) from the Great Barrier Reef (Cannon, 1978); Cannon (1986) further reported this species from starfish (Anthenea acuta (Perrier, 1869)) in Moreton Bay, Queensland.
