Ecological Descriptors

Adult: inquiline (host(s): Nasutitermes graveolus (Hill, 1925) [TERMITIDAE]), terrestrial.

 

Diagnosis

Length 3.0-3.1 mm. Body faintly microreticulate; with short thickened setae over body. Antennomeres IV-X transverse, similar in size and form. Elytra each with broad longitudinal ridge adjacent to sutural stria, ridge extending from base to near elytral apex; lateral ridge extending from near base to middle third of elytra, reappearing as rounded hump near elytral apex. Male eyes with about 85 facets; visible tergite 1 (IV) bearing two broadly rounded humps near middle; 2 (V) with large transversely rounded hump near tergite apex, hump extending almost half tergite width; 3 (VI) with median broad rounded hump in apical half. Metasternum with broadly concave impression at middle in apical half. Female eyes with about 80 facets; visible tergites 1-3 (IV-VI) bearing two large prominent rounded humps in apical halves; metasternum only slightly impressed at middle in apical half.
