Diagnosis

Allied to Aufidus but tegmina more coriaceous and venation different. Pronotum anteriorly with two naked callose spots. Posterior margin emarginate, while it is truncate in Aufidus. In the tegmina there are three discoidals (subapical), four apicals well marked, while there are another five small cells marked off on the costal cell. There is a narrow appendix. (Kirkaldy 1906)

On the face of the head the frontoclypeus is narrow and swollen, somewhat medially flattened with the sides steep. The labium terminates between the middle coxae. The eyes, which are broader than long, lie considerably below the level of the frontoclypeus. On the crown of the head, the distance between the ocelli is less than one third of the distance between each ocellus and the adjacent eye. The eyes overlap the pronotum laterally. The tegmina have numerous costal veinlets and the hind tibiae have a single spur. (Evans 1966)
