Tasmania 1: 62 (1956), W.M.Curtis & D.I.Morris, Stud. Fl. Tasmania, 2nd edn 1: 65 (1975)) either as accepted names or in synonymy of Tunica prolifera (L.) Scop., Kohlrauschia prolifera (L.) Kunth or Petrorhagia prolifer (L.) P.W.Ball & Heywood. Petrorhagia prolifer (and its nomenclatural synonyms) are now considered misapplications against Petrorhagia dubia (Raf.) G.Lopez & Romo and Petrorhagia nanteuilii (Burnat) P.W.Ball & Heywood in Australia.
