  • Type: c. 18 km S of Eneabba on Brand Hwy, 29 deg 56 min S lat., 115 deg 16 min E long., 18 Oct. 1978, R.J. Hnatiuk 780220 (holo: PERTH; iso: CBG; photo: CBG).
  • Etymology: "The name comes from the Greek word phoinix meaning red-purple and refers to the colour of the stamens.."
  • Text: It appears that E. x phoenicea may be a hybrid between E. beaufortioides and E. violacea subsp. raphiophylla.
