  • Etymology: "Our research on the melaleucas of south-western Western Australia has been assisted greatly by people who have an interest in the plant species they observe in the bush and the willingness to share that knowledge with others. The epithet of the present taxon honours these persons who for their enjoyment explore natural vegetation communities to become familiar with their constituent species (Greek zetetikos, disposed to search)."
