GENERAL

Detailed description and illustration of male and female galls, first-instar nymphs and adults by Froggatt, W.W. 1894. Notes on the family Brachyscelidae, with descriptions of new species. Part III. Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales 8: 335–348.

STRUCTURE

Female gall is dull green to brown, has a pyriform brown cap. Immature galls much more elongate, flask-shaped, variable. First-instar females pale pink to salmon in color, filling up the cavity in mature galls at the apical opening. Eyes black, body elongate-oval. First-stage female yellow, flat on upper side, elongate, rounded at the top. Second-stage female bluish gray, covered with whitish dust on the back. Male galls are reddish-brown, broad at base and tapering towards the tip. Adult male is reddish-pink, dorsal eyes large, black and globular (see Froggatt, W.W. 1894. Notes on the family Brachyscelidae, with descriptions of new species. Part III. Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales 8: 335–348).
