   Holotype BMNH Rh8920 ♂ (Fabricius in the original description did not indicate the number of specimens described; described from the Bank's Collection; Edwards et al. (2001: 350) accept the single Banksian specimen a the holotype), Tongatabu, Samoa (as Insula Amsterdam in original description).
