Adult: pest, volant.

Larva: aquatic (associated flora: Allocasuarina verticillata (Lam.) L.A.S.Johnson [CASUARINACEAE] Drooping She-Oak).

Extra Ecological Information

Adult day-biting and attacks humans; localised pest in some forested areas; larva found in subterranean pools in the tunnels of land crayfish.
