Introduction
Dijkstra & Beu (2018) treat this species as restricted to the northern Indian Ocean, being replaced in eastern Australia by S. rubicunda and S. pallula, and note that Serratovola species from the Indo-West Pacific are often misidentified. We retain the species here until work is conducted to establish the identity of material in Australian collections.
