Introduction
Dignamoconcha was originally placed in the Helicarionidae by Iredale (1944) but has subsequently been transferred to the Punctidae by Hyman & Ponder (2010) on the basis of radular and anatomical characters. The large size and acutely keeled pagoda shape make this species unique amongst the Australian Punctidae.

Diagnosis
Shell relatively large, trochoidal, strongly keeled at periphery with a second keel around edge of the wide umbilicus; last whorl descending rapidly below whorl plane forming a stepped spire; protoconch flat with spiral lirae, teleoconch sculpture of fine spiral cords and fine radial growth lines; umbilicus wide, funnel-shaped. Colour greenish-fawn with irregular lighter radial streaks.
