    Type data:
     Lectotype ZMB 4733 (BMNH 64.10.27.9 also designated lectotype by Storr, G.M. 1972. The genus Morethia (Lacertilia: Scincidae) in Western Australia. Journal of the Royal Society of Western Australia 55: 73–79, but Smyth's designation confirmed by Rawlinson, P.A. 1976. The endemic Australian lizard genus Morethia (Scincidae: Lygosominae) in southern Australia. Memoirs of the National Museum of Victoria 37: 27–41), Adelaide, SA.
