Adult: volant.

Larva: aquatic.

Extra Ecological Information

Adult a vicious, persistent, daytime biter, attacking humans in forest, jungle and rainforest; adult males taken in malaise traps; immature stages collected in ground pools formed by buttress roots in flooded virgin forest, grassy rain-filled roadside gutters and temporary pools in side channel of a stream.
