Introduction

Kaputaresta is distinguished from both Iotula and Paralaoma by the lustrous appearance of the shell, very rounded whorls, more numerous spiral lirae on the protoconch and deep sutures. Similar in appearance to the Lord Howe Island Charopinesta.

Diagnosis

Shell minute, lustrous, subdiscoidal with flattened to very low spire; whorls rounded, sutures very deep, channel-like; protoconch raised and sculptured with fine spiral lirae, teleoconch sculpture of irregular, rather crowded growth lines with fine to strong spiral lirae; umbilicus narrow to minute. Colour dark resinous brown to golden brown. Range. Nandewar Range, N NSW.
