Genus Floracoccus Beardsley, 1974

 

SYSTEMATICS

Generic characteristics that distinguish this genus from all other eriococcids are: the possession of central, sclerotized boss on dorsum; boss with numerous pouch-like invaginations; antennae 1-segmented; legs reduced to tubercles, with indistinct segmentation; labium 1-segmented; no protruding anal lobes; no enlarged setae (Beardsley, J.W. 1974. A new genus of Coccoidea from Australian eucalyptus (Homoptera). Proceedings of the Hawaiian Entomological Society 21: 325–328).
