Introduction
Pupilla (Gibbulinopsis) ficulnea from the Red Centre is very similar to Omegapilla australis. It differs primarily in the direction of coiling and in the possession of an upper palatal node. Solem (1989) also cites the larger size of this species as a differentiating character, however, O. australis can vary considerably in shell height in some semi-arid locations.

Diagnosis
Shell very small, bronze to orange-brown, pupiform, dextral, smooth; whorls slightly rounded; aperture lunate with four barriers: a large parietal tooth, small knob-like basal and infrapalatal nodes well inside aperture and a slanted columellar tooth; height to 3.5mm.
