    Comment: Waterhouse & Lyell in the original description indicated that they had five males and three females; Carpenter, G.D.H. 1953. The genus Euploea (Lep. Danaidae) in Micronesia, Melanesia, Polynesia and Australia. A zoo-geographical study. Trans. Zool. Soc. Lond. 28(1): 1–184 pl. 1–9 [6] (used the name as an available species group name); Parsons, M.J. 1998. The Butterflies of Papua New Guinea; their systematics and biology. San Diego : Academic Press 736 pp. [507] (also used the name as an available species group name).
