[653] (Huber does not believe that this name applies to an Australia species, and instead suggests using Cardita essingtonensis Deshayes, 1854, which he believes is a synonym of C. pica from the Philippines. The author synonymises the two names, whith C. pica taking priority. A revision of this Australian faunal component needs to take place before this conclusion can followed here)
