Superorder EPIMORPHA Sensu stricto
Introduction
The subclass Epimorpha sensu stricto (cf. Edgecombe et al. 1999) includes those centipede orders in which the young hatch in the same form as the adults-that is, with a complete set of at least 25 segments and at least 21 legs. The subclass is divided into two orders, Geophilomorpha and Scolopendromorpha. All members are solid animals with sturdy legs; their eggs are laid in clusters (Hoffmann 1982: 683).
