Type data:
Holotype QVM 1365 ♀ ('previously published as the female of the southern form of Tursiops maugeanus Iredale & Troughton, 1934'), Hobblers Bridge, North Esk River, 5 km upstream from Tamar River.
Paratype(s) NMV 17 specimens, ♂ and ♀ (also in TMAG), from Port Philip Bay and Gippsland Lakes, Victoria.
Introduction
The validity of this species needs further testing (Jackson & Grove 2015; Moura et al. 2020).
