Comment: Miskin in the original description did not indicate the number of specimens described; Illidge, R. 1898. List of butterflies of the Brisbane district. Proceedings of the Royal Society of Queensland 13: 89–102 [98] (stated that there was a single known specimen, in the Miskin collection in the QM); Waterhouse, G.A. & Lyell, G. 1913. Description of a new lycaenid butterfly, with notes upon its life-history. Victorian Naturalist (Melbourne) 29: 156–160 [160] (stated that the species was known from the type female only, which is interpreted as evidence for a holotype); Waterhouse, G.A. & Lyell, G. 1914. The Butterflies of Australia: a monograph of the Australian Rhopalocera introducing a complete scheme of structural classification, and giving descriptions and illustrations of all the butterflies found in Australia, including a number now recorded for the first time. Comment: Anderson & Spry in the original description mentioned a series of both sexes; Peters, J.V. 1971. A Catalogue of the Type Specimens of the Hesperioidea and Papilionoidea (Lepidoptera) in the Australian Museum. Greenwich, NSW : Australian Entomological Press 36 pp. [28] (referred to a holotype but questioned its authenticity, and this is not accepted as a lectotype designation; the NMV web site did not list any type material of this species in the NMV).

Extra Ecological Information

Larval food/attendant ants not recorded, but on two occasions immature stages have been found associated with the Coconut Ant, Papyrius sp. (nitidus group) [FORMICIDAE] (Dolichoderinae).
