Introduction
The shells of volvatellids are cylindrical, or pear-shaped with a posterior spout, and are thin, flexible, and are more or less chitinous with little shelly component. Animals are small, the foot short, and are capable of retraction within shell aperture. Animals give off white viscid discharge when disturbed. Compiled from Burn (in press).
