Family TEREBRATULIDAE Gray, 1840

Introduction

Occurence: Upper Triassic to Recent.

 

Diagnosis

Valves smooth or with growth lamellae, semiplicate or part capillate; loop terebratulid, crural processes not united to form ringlike loop, outer hinge plates present, and inner hinge plates also in some genera; dorsal median septum and dental plates absent; lophophore plectolophous and filament spicules present in some Recent genera.
