Note #498: Acosmeryx cinerea Butler, March 1875 has long been considered a junior subjective synonym of A. anceus (Stoll, 1781) but Holloway (1987) showed that it is a junior subjective synonym of A. shervillii Boisduval, Feb. 1875)
